Matthew James Albright, 47, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026. He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose life was filled with music, laughter, family, and an extraordinary love for his children. To know Matt was to know a man who loved his family fiercely. He was happiest surrounded by his children, often with a baby on his hip, a smile on his face, and music playing much louder than anyone else thought necessary. Whether gathered in the kitchen, cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, or celebrating life’s everyday moments, Matt had a way of turning ordinary experiences into memories that would last a lifetime.
Matt had an unmistakable personality and a sense of humor that those closest to him will never forget. Though often quiet and reserved around strangers, he came alive when surrounded by family and friends. His laughter, his smile, and his ability to make even the simplest moments memorable will be deeply missed. Above all, Matt will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his children. He showed his love by being present, by making time, and by giving everything he could to the people who meant the most to him. His legacy is not measured simply by the years he lived, but by the lives he touched and the love he leaves behind.
Matt is survived by his parents, Amy and Jeff Bland and Sam and Mary Albright; his sister, Christina Flannigan; his brother Earl Miller; and all his beloved family and “yinz” back in Pennsylvania, including his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend and the mother of his children, Jennifer Albright Lewis, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to their family. His greatest pride and joy were his children: Abbiegayle Crowie-Sawyer, Donavin Matthew Albright, Zavier Stancil, Annika Saunders, Brighton James Albright, Braelyn Albright, Christen Albright, Lola Albright, Christopher Albright, Angela, and Aleasha. Matt’s love and legacy continue through his ten grandchildren: Charlotte, Claire, Christopher, Amethyst, Adonis, Ezra Matthew, Carlo, Briella, Merrick, and Kensey.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, Matt’s memory will live on in the laughter of his children, the music that fills their homes, the stories shared around family tables, and the love that continues through generations. His family encourages everyone who knew and loved Matt to continue sharing their memories, telling his stories, and speaking his name. In doing so, the joy he brought into their lives will never be forgotten.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever a part of the family he cherished.
