Obituaries

Clifford “Cliff” W. Summers, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Lakeland Regional Health after a brief illness. Cliff was born on January 1, 1941, in Bartow, Florida, to Connie Summers and Estelle (Thompson) Summers. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James, Jerome, George, & Richard, and daughter Tracy “T.J.” Harrell. Mr. Summers graduated from Winter Haven High School and was a lifetime resident of Polk County. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marla Summers of Winter Haven, Florida, daughter Angela Summers of Auburndale, Florida, son Wade Summers & stepdaughter Michelle Smith, both of Lakeland, Florida, numerous grandchildren, several beloved nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Cliff retired in 2011 after 41 years at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA). He was a born-again Christian who attended Multiply Christian Church in Winter Haven, Florida. He loved the outdoors, gardening, camping, working with his hands, volunteering at his church, and spending time with his family. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Multiply Christian Church, 3900 Lake Blue Drive, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
