William Horde

February 17, 1942 - December 28, 2025

William Eugene Horde, 83, of Lakeland, Florida went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2025.  Mr. Horde was born on February 17, 1942 in Flint, Michigan.  Mr. Horde is survived by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis Horde, four children:  Eric Horde (Florence) and Scott Horde of Orlando, Florida, Kristine Russell (Mark) and Jessica Horde of Lakeland, Florida, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Horde served for 12 years in the U.S. Air Force.  Afterwards he worked for National Weather Service for 38 years. Upon retirement Mr. Horde, his wife and daughter Jessica moved to Lakeland where he worked as a starter at Cleveland Heights Golf Course and owned a small business making and repairing golf clubs. Mr. Horde was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.  He was also a trainer in Evangelism Explosion.

  A memorial service will be held at Scott Lake Baptist Church, 5811 Scott Lake Road, Lakeland, Florida on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving visitors prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
