William Bradley “Brad” Edwards age 60 passed away in Lakeland on July 23,2024. He is most affectionately known as Pops and Santa Claus. He was born in Reno, Nevada on February 19, 1964. Brad was preceded in death by his mother Carole Waverly Black-Edwards; father James William Edwards, sisters Olivia “Libby” Edwards and Dorothy Hartzog (Edwards); brother Roger Lynn Edwards; and Uncle Joe Black.
Brad is survived by his loving wife of eighteen and a half years Lorianne Edwards and six children. Two boys from his first marriage, Chad William Edwards (Cheyann) and Ryan James Edwards(Jill). Four from his second marriage, William Wayne Shallenberger (Summer); Katerina Elisabeth Shallenberger-Burton (Eddie); Abigail “Abby” Nicole Shallenberger; and Destiny Slater with Michael Lindsey; and four grandchildren. He graduated from Auburndale High School in 1982 with a certification in Marine mechanics from Polk Vocational Technology School. He used and expanded his mechanical engineer training to later work on all kinds of motors from boats to cars to refrigerators and the like. His love of boats continually brought him back to repairing boats even if just for fun. Brad was well liked and loved by those he knew. His nick name was Pops for a reason. He was a fatherly figure to those who needed one. He never heard a song he didn’t like because he usually did not know the words anyway. He had been a member of First Baptist Church at the Mall with the Faith Riders, and most recently found himself at home attending SOMOS Church. His hobbies included music, motorcycles, boats, and automobiles.
