Shawn D Minnis

September 14, 1956 - January 27, 2024

Shawn Dineen Minnis (Shepard) passed away on January 27, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida with her loved ones by her side. She was born on September 14, 1956, in Phoenix, Arizona to Benjamin and Ruby Shepard. Shawn was a giving, kind, and beautiful person. She was also a firecracker at times. Shawn had a green thumb and loved being outdoors in her yard tending to her flowerbeds. She also loved the beach and going to the parks and absolutely couldn’t pass up a good thrift store. Shawn adored music and her favorites were Allman Brothers, Jimmy Buffett, country gospel and many more. Most of all she loved the Lord. You could find her most days doing a study with Shepherds Chapel and she would never pass up an opportunity to spread the word of Jesus. Shawn married James Minnis on March 26, 1996, here in Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Ruby Shepard and siblings, Benjamin Shepard II and Anna Nell Duckworth.
Shawn is survived by her husband, James (Jimmy) Minnis; daughter, Venus Mason (Jeff); son, Josh Morrison; stepson, Colt Minnis (Alycia); sister, Gina Shepard; grandchildren, Christian Deyton, Marissa Inclema , Dylan Morrison, and Brody Minnis; great grandchildren, Autumn, Aelora , Arwen; Her precious dog, Jack.

A Celebration for Shawn’s life will be held at a later date.
