Richard Cowl, a loving husband, dad, papa, poppy, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by his family.

Richard was the loving husband of April Cowl and a wonderful dad to Richard “Ricky” Cowl Jr. (and grandchildren Jayden and Makayla), Nicole “Nikki” Tyler (and her partner Jason Besley), Amber Robinson (and her husband Jonathan), Matthew Wilson (and his wife Lizbet “Little Bit”—and grandchild Malakai), Keri Cowl (and grandchild Ava), and Kristie Wilbur (and grandchild Matthias). His love extended far and wide, touching not only his children and grandchildren, but his many close friends and a large, loving family of sisters, brothers, and in-laws.

Richard was a man who lived life with a huge heart. He was humble, kind, and always smiling — someone who could light up a room just by walking in. He never met a stranger and treated everyone like family. His deep generosity meant there was always a place in his world for anyone who crossed his path.

Richard was a diesel mechanic by trade — a true “Mr. Fix It”— who spent years using his hands, knowledge, and patience to keep things running smoothly. His ability to repair, build, and solve problems was a reflection of his character: strong, reliable, and loving. His passions were simple and pure; he adored fishing, spending time with his family, and loving his furbaby, BeBe.

He was a mischievous soul who kept everyone smiling with his clever humor and affectionate teasing. His signature expression — “Who loves you more than me?” — was a loving reminder of the deep bond and pure happiness we all shared with him.

Richard was not just a wonderful dad and grandfather; he was a cherished friend, a loving brother to Charles (and Nancy), Jimmy (and Billijo), Brian, Bruce, Theresa (and nephew Cory Thomas), Karen Osier and her daughter Chelsea DeWitt, Linda (and Richard), Ginger, and Sandy Cowl, and a second family to close friends Stacy, Debra, and Hailey Hutchinson; Keith and Patty Dewitt; and Mary and Ricky Curran.

He leaves a legacy of love, compassion, and service — a legacy that will live on through all the hearts he touched. His generosity, humor, and ability to light up a room will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.

Richard was an amazing husband to April, a devoted dad, papa, a loving Poppy (grandpa), and a friend to all. His memory will continue to guide and inspire us, and we will carry him in our hearts forever.
