Patricia Rymer

December 20, 1957 - April 9, 2025

Patricia Sue Rymer passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 9, 2025, at the age of 67.  Born in Elmwood Park, IL, Patty’s life was a testament to her unwavering love for family and her vibrant spirit.  She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1977, embarking on a life filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering dedication to those she cherished.

In 1983, Patty began her family in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she nurtured and loved her daughter, Erin.  Seeking to be closer to family, she moved with Erin to Sebring, Florida in 2000, a decision that brought her closer to her parents and eldest sister.  There, she created a warm and loving home, embracing the sunshine state and the opportunity to lavish her time and energy on her beloved grandchildren, Reghan and Austin.  She was an enthusiastic supporter of their pursuits, never missing a soccer game, gymnastics meet, or dance recital.  Beach weekends with her family were a cherished tradition, filled with laughter and unforgettable memories.

Patty was a fiercely independent woman, possessing boundless energy and a generous heart.  Her love for her family was unwavering, and her presence will be deeply missed.  She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life – family gatherings, sunny days at the beach, and the companionship of her furry friends, Sam, Rosie, and Licorice.

Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Barbara Rymer, and her sisters, Marcia Brown and Susan Chapin, Patty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Erin Nicole and Chris Chartrand; her cherished grandchildren, Reghan and Austin; her brother, Joseph Rives Rymer Jr.; and her life partner and dear friend, Steve Forrest.
