It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Nina Balikowsky, a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Nina peacefully departed this world on September 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and joy.
Born on October 13, 1945, in the serene landscapes of Austria, Nina’s life was a testament to nurturing care and exuberant spirit. She dedicated her professional life to the field of nursing, where her caring nature and commitment to others shone brightly, touching the lives of countless individuals.
In 1969, on a magical New Year’s Eve, Nina married the love of her life, Oleg Balikowsky. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 44 wonderful years of marriage until Oleg’s passing. Their union was blessed with three beloved children: Lara Ciampa, Oleg Balikowsky, Jr., and Alexandra Massie. Nina’s love extended further as she embraced the role of a grandmother to six adoring grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply.
Nina’s life was enriched by her active participation in the community at St. Mark Orthodox Church in Bradenton, FL, where she was a cherished member. Her faith and dedication were evident in every interaction, and her joyful spirit left a mark on those around her.
A woman of many talents, Nina found immense joy in her hobbies. She was an avid reader, losing herself in the worlds contained within the pages of her books. Her skill in crocheting was unmatched, and she often shared her creations with friends and family, leaving behind tangible pieces of her love and artistry.
Those who knew Nina will remember her for her positive attitude and the warmth she brought into every room. Her laughter was infectious, and her spirit was uplifting, traits that made her presence a true gift to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Aviata at Central Park in Brandon, FL, for the compassionate care they provided to Nina. Your kindness and dedication will forever be remembered and appreciated.
