Michael A. Santner, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida.  He was 66 years old.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 5, 1958, to William and Ruth Santner, Mike’s life was marked by unwavering dedication and a spirit of adventure.  Following his graduation from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, beginning his service in 1976.  His 22-year career as a Surface Warfare Specialist and Senior Chef brought him immense satisfaction, particularly his time at sea aboard the USS John Rodgers and the USS Theodore Roosevelt.  His contributions to the Navy earned him numerous medals, and he served with distinction during the Gulf War.

Upon his retirement in 1998, Mike continued to pursue his ambitions, earning a degree from the University of Tampa.  He then embarked on a successful career as a mortgage underwriter.  Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike was an avid outdoorsman, finding solace and joy in the tranquility of his northern cabin.  He cherished trail riding and the camaraderie of gatherings with friends.  Known for his culinary skills, he delighted in cooking and baking for loved ones.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Santner, and two sisters, Susan and Deborah. He is survived by his loving wife, Julie; his son, Michael Santner of Florida; his daughter, Megan Santner of Indiana; his granddaughter, Briley; his brother, Geoff Santner of Florida; and his sister, Vickie Santner of South Carolina.

Mike’s life was a testament to service, dedication, and a deep love for family and friends.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
