LaBelle Richards Albritton
October 9, 1943 - October 28, 2025
LaBelle Richards Albritton, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on October 9, 1943, in Provo, Utah, LaBelle was the cherished daughter of Louis and Jennie Richards. She would have celebrated her 82nd birthday just a few short weeks before her passing, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support for her family.
LaBelle was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her son Alfred Albritton, and all of her siblings: Eldon Richards, Dan Richards, Ralph Richards, and Helen Gieger. Their absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her, but LaBelle’s spirit remains alive through her cherished family.
She is survived by her three loving children: Bernice Murphy (Jim), Michael Albritton (Shannon), and Cynthia Gadd (Chuck). LaBelle was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind her faithful dog, Missy, who was her constant companion and many nieces and nephews.
LaBelle dedicated 33 years of her professional life to the Department of Transportation before retiring. Her commitment and work ethic were exemplary, but it was her role as a mother and grandmother that truly defined her. A woman of remarkable fortitude, LaBelle served in the Marine Corps right after high school, where she spent three years in service to her country, demonstrating her bravery and commitment from a young age.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, LaBelle had various hobbies and interests that brought her happiness. She was an avid fan of the television show “Survivor” and delighted in camping adventures. LaBelle was a fierce supporter of her grandchildren, attending their sports games, school plays, and band performances, always cheering them on and showing up for them in every way she could. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless and unwavering, and she made it a priority to be present in their lives.
As we remember LaBelle, we celebrate a woman who embodied love, kindness, and resilience. Her laughter, support, and fierce loyalty will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
LaBelle Richards Albritton may have departed this world, but her legacy of love and support will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear LaBelle; you have left an indelible mark on our hearts.
