June was a loving, inspiring sister. We shared childhood experiences on our father and mother's farm in northeast Georgia through the 1930s and 1940s. We learned to devote ourselves to work, cooperate and share, and be self reliance. She encouraged me to go to college for which I remain indebted, Her life was one that might easily be viewed as exemplary.

I am sorry to hear that cousin June went to be with the Lord this week. We are related by our mothers, both of whom were Maddens. My mother helped her mother Mildred in raising the Pinson children, so my mother was quite close with all of them. I was always proud of June because of her marriage to a missionary. It takes a special kind of person to marry someone who is involved in foreign missions. I wish I had been able to spend time with June and her family, but when they returned to the country they moved to Florida which was beyond my ability to travel there. My condolences to the surviving children and their families.

We served in Brazil with Pat and June Foster and always appreciated their leadership and their friendship. June was an inspiring example of faithfulness, kindness and loving service. We had many meals in their home and always enjoyed our visits and conversations about life and ministry.

Many sweet memories of Pat & June when I worked in Brazil with them. Your Mom’s quiet spirit spoken loudly of her commitment to the ministry and partnership with Pat. My condolences to your family, but so happy that she is now with Jesus and didn’t need to suffer long after her stroke.
