Obituaries

John Carter Jones Sr., a beloved son, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Winter Haven, Florida. He was 55 years young.  Born on March 13, 1970, in Warner Robins, Georgia, to James and Eleanor Jones, John moved to Florida at a tender age, where he would spend the remainder of his life.

John possessed a deep love for the natural world.  He found immense joy in the outdoors, particularly fishing, and cherished his time spent at Green Swamp, a place that held a special significance in his heart.  More than anything, however, John treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaysen, Mason, Zoie, Angel, and Shane, who brought immeasurable light to his life.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Eleanor Jones; his three cherished children, Kimberly(Wesley), Chelsea (Danny) and John Carter Jr. (Samantha), and his four siblings, Jimmy (Connie), Ronnie (Lorri), Marion (Mike), and Vicki (Terry); grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaysen, Mason, Zoie, Angel, and Shane. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of the outdoors, and the unwavering devotion he showed to his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
