John Alan Hardin

John Alan Hardin, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 65. Born on November 12, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia, to John and Joyce Hardin, John moved with his family to Florida when he was eight years old, where he would spend the majority of his life.

John’s career was spent as an operator with Georgia Pacific, from which he retired. Outside of work, his passions were many and vibrant. He was a devoted NASCAR fan, a proud “Parrot Head” celebrating the music of Jimmy Buffett, and an enthusiastic supporter of the University of Florida Gators. He cherished time spent at the beach, enjoying the Florida sunshine and the simple pleasures of life.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Joyce Hardin. He is survived by his three cherished children, Brittany Roberts, Kristen Doherty, and Alex Hardin; seven grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Grady, Huck, Payton, Rylynn, Hayden, Analee, and Wade; and his siblings, Jeff, Ron, and Jill.

John will be remembered for his kind heart, his easygoing nature, and his unwavering love for his family. His memory will be a cherished treasure for all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
