Jimmy Norris Brooks, a beloved husband, father, and craftsman, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. He was 84 years young.

Born in Pelham, Georgia, on September 27, 1940, to James and Eleanor Brooks, Jimmy lived a life marked by skill, dedication, and quiet strength. He possessed a remarkable talent for his hands, excelling as a carpenter who built with precision and care. His meticulous nature also extended to his second profession as a typewriter repairman, a skill becoming increasingly rare and appreciated in our modern age.

Jimmy was predeceased by his devoted wife, Phyllis, and his parents. His love for Phyllis was a cornerstone of his life, and their shared years were filled with enduring affection. He will be deeply missed by his son, Jeff Brooks; his daughter, Tammy Brooks; and his granddaughters, Shelby Williams and Jessica Brooks and his five great grandchildren who will carry forward the legacy of his kindness and gentle spirit.

A graveside service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Burial Park, where he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved Phyllis. He will be remembered not only for his craftsmanship, but also for the warmth and love he shared with all who knew him
