James "Chris" Newman

James “Chris” Newman, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Mulberry, Florida. He was 45 years old. Born on March 22, 1980, in Lakeland, Florida, to Jim and Linda Newman, Chris spent his life embracing the beauty of his home state.

Chris was a graduate of Mulberry High School and followed in his father’s footsteps, working as a skilled air compressor mechanic. He possessed a strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. Outside of work, Chris found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved the water in all its forms – the lake, the beach, any body of water brought him peace and happiness. His passions included fishing and the thrill of mudbogging.

Above all, Chris cherished his family. He leaves behind four children who were the center of his world: Trevor, Taylor, Olivia, and Charlie. He was a devoted father, providing them with unwavering love and support. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Jim and Linda Newman, as well as numerous extended family members and friends who admired his kind heart and genuine spirit. He was a wonderful son, father, nephew, cousin, and friend, and his memory will be a source of comfort and strength for all who knew him.

A celebration of Chris’s life will be held on June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and share their memories.
