A gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate Ilona’s life on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Central Florida Casket Store and Funeral Chapel, 2090 East Edgewood Drive, Lakeland, Florida.  She will be laid to rest in Plant City, Florida in Shiloh Cemetery.

Ilona Lobanov (née Simon), a gifted musician and accomplished legal consultant, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, in Tampa, Florida.  She was 76.

Born on June 7, 1948, in Lithuania to Samuel and Rita Simon, Ilona’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to both art and intellect.  Immigrating to the United States in the 1960s, she pursued her passion for music, earning a Master’s Degree in Concert Pianism from Boston University.  Her skill at the piano was a lifelong joy, enriching the lives of those around her.  Beyond her piano prowess, Ilona was also a talented singer, a skill she shared through performances and a cherished recorded album.

Her intellectual curiosity extended beyond music, leading her to pursue a law degree, which she obtained from Pace University in New York in 1982. This remarkable achievement showcased her strength, determination, and unwavering pursuit of knowledge.

Ilona will be deeply missed by her daughter, Lorraine Carreiro (Rui); her four grandchildren, Leslie, Landon, Rylan and Aaden, who brought immense joy to her life; her sister, Claire Mudrich; her nephew, Michael Mudrich (Pristine); grandnephew, Asher and her brother-in-law, Alexander Lobanov.  Her legacy of talent, intelligence, and unwavering spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
