Hazel Creel Hetrick

September 28, 1928 - April 23, 2021

Hazel Creel Hetrick was born in Fayette, Alabama on Sept 28, 1928. She passed away on April 23, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Judson Hetrick; three daughters, Lynda Wilkinson (Mike), Jenny Jordan (Gary) and Connie. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Jeremy Free Daniels (Julia), Genavieve Reidinger (Davin), and Brittani Blair (Matt) as well as several great grandchildren. Hazel is also survived by three sisters, Ann Williamson, June Creel and Elizabeth Drendell, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Hazel graduated from Southeastern Bible Institute (Now Southeastern University) in 1949 and from Columbus City Hospital in 1954, as a registered nurse. She worked in a number of nursing facilities until finally completing her career with the Polk County Health Department where she worked from 1968 to 1990.

Hazel was a very dedicated church worker, over the years working with every age group from the nursery to the senior citizens. In 1978 she founded a ministry called Nurses for Christ, which ministered to both the spiritual and practical needs of nurses. She was very active in the ministry until 2011, and then she became a full time and loving grandmother, great grandmother, mother and wife.

Memorial Services for Hazel will be on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:00pm at FAM Church in Mulberry, Florida.
