A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Baptist Church Bartow, 410 E. Church St.

Bartow, on Saturday, August 10 at 2 PM. Guests are welcome to arrive at 1:30 PM.

If comfortable doing so, guests are encouraged to wear overalls to the service in honor and

celebration of Wayne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Bartow Bereavement Fund, 410 E.

Harold Wayne Glave passed away at home on July 5, 2024, after a long illness. Born in Cortland, NY, on September 2, 1940, he moved with his family to Lakeland, FL when he was nine years old. He spent most of his life in Lakeland, but also lived in Ocala, Tennessee and Kentucky.

He worked as a meat cutter, high rise window cleaner, used car lot owner, taxidermist and truck driver before settling into a career as a painter/pressure washer for the Polk County School Board Maintenance Department. He also served as the AFSCME Union Local 2227 Vice President of Maintenance while employed at the Polk County School Board. He was an avid artist and craftsman. He was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. He was a member of Ardella Baptist Church and also attended First Baptist Church Bartow. He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Glave, his mother, Edna McCraw, his sons, Clyde Glave and Paul Glave, his brother, Gary Glave and his sisters, Dixie Watling and Laura Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Kirkland Glave; his sons, Rev. Matthew McCraw (Jennifer) of Bartow, FL and Benjamin McCraw (Maddy) of Driftwood, TX; his daughter, Lisa Ruby Clayton (Ray) of Stamping Ground, KY; his brother, Ray Glave, of Davenport, FL; his sister, Linda Wolfe,

of Mulberry, FL; his grandson, Grant Glave, of Auburndale, FL; his granddaughter, Chelsea Fairless, of Colorado; his grandchildren, Nicole Hagar and Alan Reynolds, both of Kentucky; Ashley, Amber, Anthony and Ashton Glave, all of Georgia; Jeremiah, Levi and Samuel McCraw of Bartow, FL; and Everette McCraw of Texas; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his caregiver, Vera Tungate, and Compassionate Care Hospice caregivers, Sandy and Sherry.
