Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 10:00 ~ 11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00am at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6725 Green Road, Lakeland, Fl 33803; with graveside services following at 2:00pm at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
Guadalupe Martinez Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and son, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. He was 56 years old. Born on August 26, 1968, in Brownsville, Texas, Guadalupe spent his later years enriching the lives of those around him in Lakeland.
Guadalupe was a man of unwavering kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand. His willingness to assist others was legendary, a testament to his compassionate spirit. He possessed a remarkable skill in bicycle building, a talent that reflected his meticulous nature and dedication to craftsmanship.
He was a proud resident of West Lakeland, deeply connected to his community and its people. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him for his warm heart, his helpful nature, and his unwavering dedication to his family and loved ones.
Beyond his skills, Guadalupe’s greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted father to Roxxan Martinez and Guadalupe Martinez Jr., and a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life. His love extended beyond his immediate family; he provided unwavering care for his mother, demonstrating his deep affection and commitment through countless acts of service, from simple yard work to daily companionship. He is also survived by his partner of 20 years, Maritza Cortina, five siblings; and many other loving family members.
Guadalupe Martinez Sr. will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
