Gregory Neal Grissett March 6, 1944- August 3, 2025
Gregory Neal Grissett, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and respected business man, passed away peacefully in his Florida home surrounded by his family. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine Kidwell and stepfather Richard Kidwell, father Neal Grissett, brother Ronnie Grissett, sister Patricia Wooddell, nephew Brandon Grissett, and other loved family members and friends. He is survived by the love of his life, his soulmate of 58 blessed years – Leyda Grissett. Survived also by his daughters, Lynette Grissett and Lizabeth Rizo (Christian); his son Gregory Grissett Jr.; grandchildren Colton Shidaker (Haley), Wyatt Shidaker, Gregory Rizo and Michael Rizo; and cherished great-grandson Owen Shidaker; brothers Stephen Grissett (Heather), Tim Kidwell (Rita), and Richard “Dick” Kidwell; his departed sister’s husband Don Wooddell; many precious and beloved brothers and sisters in-law; several nephews, nieces, and cousins that he held dear to his heart; his compassionate, reliable, and patient caretakers; and many treasured friends – especially his forever friend Joe Little. Greg has completed his final round on the earthly course. He lived life in the fairway, approaching each challenge with determination and a smile. Gregory was a man who found joy in the simple things – early mornings on the golf course, quiet moments in nature, traveling the world, along with the rewards of hard work. He lived his life with quiet strength and deep passion. He was the proud owner and President of The Emerson Lumber Company. He was involved in various other business ventures and charities over the years, earning the respect of employees, colleagues, and the loyalty of customers. Above all, Gregory will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his integrity, his humor, and his ability to find purpose and pride in every season of his life. While his earthly round has ended, his spirit continues to soar, guiding us with the strength of a perfectly struck iron shot.

Calling hours will be held the day before the service. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James the Less (in Columbus, Ohio) with details to be shared with family and friends.
Gregory’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
