Our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Donna Lynn Shareef, peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on October 6, 2024, in Lakeland, FL, surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with declining health. Donna Lynn was 69 years old.
Born on September 19, 1955, in Cincinnati, OH, to Frances A. Wynn and Benjamin M. Wagner, Donna’s life was a vibrant tapestry of love and achievement. A proud graduate of Cooley High School in Detroit, MI, and later the Detroit College of Business, Donna began her career as an Executive Administrative Assistant at Ford Motor Company. Her entrepreneurial spirit soon led her to open a daycare for neighborhood children, and eventually, she became a successful Mary Kay Consultant, advancing to director level.
Donna’s talent for decorating homes and making them warm and inviting was well-known, as was her passion for chronicling her family’s history through meticulously crafted picture albums. She will forever be remembered for her fierce independence, her knack for making friends with everyone she met, her boundless kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family.
Despite her health challenges, Donna’s indomitable spirit and love for her family never wavered, pushing her to persevere through the toughest times.
Donna leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ali El Shareef; her daughter, Daina Troupe (Larry); stepchildren, Ali Shareef (Nicole), Reginal Shareef, Aisha Moten (Daune), Ahmed Shareef (Shelley), and Na’eem Shareef; her beloved grandchildren, Daniel and Lauryn Troupe; brothers, Benjamin Wagner Jr. (Andrea) and Michael Wagner (Linda); sister, Kim Dew; stepfather, Frank Wynn; nieces, Saxsanie Kirkland (Jeff) and Jordyn Wagner; nephew, McNair Wagner; God daughter, Lisa Prince, and dear friends, Dannie Searcy, Jacalyn Charity, and Sandy McClure.
