Betty B Bredel

This shining ray of a person was born in Chicago, IL June 27, 1927, and gained her Heavenly wings October 2, 2022. She was 95 and touched the hearts of countless individuals during her life. Betty met Robert Bredel at a Church dance after Robert served in the Army during WW II. They were married shortly thereafter and as the saying goes “when you know you know”. Their love story was truly one for the ages and the marriage was one that stories are written about and all those that know them hoped to aspire to. During their 65-year marriage she gave birth to 2 beautiful daughters, Beatrice and Mary Kay. After leaving the cold winters of the Windy City both Betty and Bob lived and worked in Miami, FL.

Betty worked at Burdines as a manager of their Customer Service and cash office. She was very involved in her girls lives and was a Girl Scout Leader. Ultimately, they built a home in Port Saint Lucie, FL where they were both very active in the senior club at Saint Lucie Catholic Church. During this time she was President of the organization and was responsible for planning day trips for them and then traveled quite often on the open waters. She loved to travel and go on cruises! Betty was also an expert shopper.

Most of all Betty loved caring for everyone she encountered. She was truly a servant of the Lord. She was a fantastic Mother, Grandma (affectionately called Nana) and a Great Grandma as well. She was preceded in death by her loving Husband. She is survived by her two daughters Beatrice Taylor (Robert) and Mary Kay McCleery (Michael), her 4 grandchildren Susan T. Nebl (Andrew), Barbara T. Johnson, Paul Barnette (Kathryn) and Carolyn B. Woodger (Ryan) and her 5 great grandchildren Madelyn and Meredith Johnson, Nathan Nebl, Lorelei Woodger and Alexandra Barnette.

Services will be held October 17th at 11am at Central Florida Funeral Chapel 2090 East Edgewood Dr. Lakeland, FL 33803.
