Alexander McIlwain

June 3, 1946 - August 22, 2026

Alexander Wallace McIlwain, 80, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born June 3, 1946, in Evanston, Illinois, he graduated from Tampa University, proudly served six years in the United States Coast Guard, including duty in Antarctica. He later founded Right Connections CCTV, working alongside his longtime friend and assistant, Connie Wilder, until his retirement in 2022. Above all, Alexander treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather whose quiet strength and kindness touched all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Patricia McIlwain; his sons, Sean McIlwain and Garrett Slauson; his grandchildren, Mylissia Vaquer, Drake Slauson, and Kylie Slauson; his great-grandchildren, Elias and Willow; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lynn Pendleton.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 12, 2026, from 1 to3 PM at Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lakeland, 4502 North Socrum Loop Road, Lakeland, Florida 33809. Family and friends are warmly invited. To know him was truly to love him.
