Alan L. Doneburgh, age 67, passed away on March 24, 2021 in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on April 19,  1953 in Gloversville, New York to William and June Doneburgh. Alan become a volunteer firefighter in 1972  and became a career firefighter and Engineer in 1981. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1986 and Captain in  1987. He is an Emergency medical Technician, Certified Fire Officer, Fire Officer Instructor, CPR Instructor,  Extrication Instructor and EMT Instructor. He served as Vice President of the Firefighters Association in 1989- 1990, and as a Trustee for the Firefighters Pension Plan from 1983-1990. Captain Doneburgh was awarded the  “Education Achievement Award” in 1987 for designing a comprehensive training program. 

He retired in November of 2006. On his time off from the FD he also had his own business ALD Enterprises  which he operated from 1971 to 2006 when he retired. Once he retired, he moved to Live Oak FL where he  joined the Falmouth VFD in Suwanee County. He was a member there from 2006-2014. Daddy always said,  “once a fire fighter always a fire fighter!” 

He also loved hunting and fishing. His favorite place to be was in the Green Swamp at hunting camp. 

Alan is survived by daughter, Donna Lynn Lammlein (George); 3 sons, Sean Doneburgh, Joshua Doneburgh  (Breana), Dennis Doneburgh; grandchildren, Brandon and Brittney Lammlein, Jonathan and Taylor  Brown, Jimmy Doneburgh, Raelynn, Bentley and Alayna Doneburgh. 

Per his request, there will be no celebration of life. His wishes were to be cremated and his ashes spread at his  favorite place. His family will full fill his wishes in the near future. They would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of prayers and support during this difficult time!
