Rory Lynn Tornga

December 13, 1982 - October 25, 2025

Rory Lynn Tornga (“Nix”), 42, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2025. Born on December 13, 1982, in Bregenz, Austria, she was the beloved daughter of Debra (née Quake) Tornga and John Tornga, and grew up in Dunedin, Florida, with her brother, Travis Tornga.

A graduate of Schiller Academy and Florida Southern University, Rory earned her B.S. in Psychology and served as Treasurer for Psi Chi. She devoted her career to mental health and substance abuse recovery, working over the years for Peace River Center, The Bridge Program, Tri-County Human Services, and Polk for Recovery.

Rory will be remembered for her laugh, her smile, her warmth, and her genuine good nature. She loved gardening, true crime documentaries, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets.

She is survived by her loving spouse, Lindsay (née Hires) Tornga; her parents; and her brother. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
