Charles Brent Meeks

July 5, 1952 - March 13, 2025

Charles Brent Meeks, a beloved barber and cherished member of the Polk County community, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at the age of 72.  Born July 5, 1952, in Lakeland, Florida, to James White Meeks, Sr. and Anita Taylor Meeks, Charles dedicated a significant portion of his life to serving his neighbors through his skilled work as a barber.  His gentle hands and warm spirit created a haven for conversation and camaraderie in his shop.

Beyond his professional life, Charles was a man of diverse passions. He found solace and joy in the quiet pursuits of fishing and golf, and he delighted in the vibrant sounds of his guitar.  Music was a constant companion throughout his life, a reflection of his soulful and generous nature.  A devoted Christian, his faith in Jesus Christ was a guiding light, shaping his kindness and compassion.

Charles is survived by his sister, Julia Anne Meeks, four cherished nieces, and a nephew.  His memory will also be kept alive by the many friends he made within the Polk County community, a testament to the enduring impact of his friendly and welcoming presence.
