Shirley Ann (Benson) Blackwelder, 83, of Winter Haven, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and best friend, Jesus, on Friday, October 11, 2019. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly. She was met at the gates of Heaven by her loving husband, Bobby, her parents, Grace and Dick Benson, her brother, Gene Benson as well as many other family members and friends who went on before her. What a joyous reunion they had!
Shirley graduated from Winter Haven High School and continued her education at Florida State University. She was a bookkeeper for Lakeland Christian School from 1971-1976. Because of her passion to help people secure their family’s future, she was a top seller for many years at Liberty National. After 17 years of excellent service, she retired at the age of 76.
Shirley spent many summers camping with her husband, her parents, and four children. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and was greatly involved in church activities. She served as a board member and taught Sunday School at several churches during her life. She was an avid reader and studied the Word of God daily. She was a shining example of a loving Christian woman and shared the love of God with everyone she met.
