Lydia Ella Nichol of Tampa, Florida, who was born on June 3, 1937, in Kalkaska, Michigan, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018, in Tampa, Florida, resting peacefully at home at the age of 81 after her 12-year valiant battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband James Nichol; her parents, George King and Dolly Mae Carlisle; her siblings, Gloria Bigelow, John Carlisle, Marian Roberts and Eleanor Henderson.
Lydia was survived by her 3 children, Robert Nichol, Glen Nichol, and Mary Bauer; her grandchildren, Tristin Nichol, Kyla Nichol, Cristina Golden, Amanda Golden, Sam Nichol, Zack Nichol, Rick Bauer and Emily Bauer; her siblings, Alfred Carlisle, Verna Hollers, and Susanna Griffith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lydia was a very selfless caring woman with an amazing green thumb. She loved her family, kitty cat, and plants & gardening. She was strong and courageous and loved music, singing, and especially learning. She was proud of her multiple degrees and ongoing lifelong college career. Her most prized honor was earning the title of Master Gardener which was a lifelong aspiration she was proudly able to achieve.
