Courtney Stuart Fagen, our beloved brother died February 28, 2020 at age 75 in Winter Haven, FL where he lived. Courtney was born on March 6, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Dr. Lawrence E. and Mary Elizabeth Stuart Fagen. His parents moved to Daytona Beach, Florida (1950-1951) and as a youth he enjoyed fishing and ran a bicycle paper route for the Daytona Beach News Journal. As a teenager, he enjoyed camping and weight lifting. He also was very interested in science and built a two-stage rocket that went about 200 ft in the air until the fuel was spent. He built a Von-de-Graf generator and functioning Tesla coil. He attended Mainland Senior High School, Daytona, participating on the Track team in the Shot-put and Discus. His prowess in these events were rewarded with a grant-in-aid scholarship to the University of Tennessee majoring in Engineering. After 3 years at UT, he returned to Daytona Beach and entered Daytona Beach Community College majoring in Electrical Engineering. He worked in a variety of jobs most notably in agricultural chemist at Seald Sweet Orange Juice citrus manufacturing. He was a member of First Baptist Church and First Assembly of God, Daytona Beach, FL and lived his faith. It was not unusual to give his money to those who were in need He once took a hitch hiker on a 120 mile round trip to a destination in which he was not going. He avidly read Scripture and held strongly to that doctrine of Biblical inerrancy. He constantly wished for the soon return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was married on August 31, 2000 to Kaye Nell Noyes Fagen deceased July 2, 2012. He is survived by his siblings Randolph C. Fagen of Winter Haven, FL; Jessie M. Sanders of Sarasota, FL; Lillian R. Taylor of Woodruff, SC and Katherine Jones-Mellette of Winter Haven, FL. He has many nieces and nephews besides.
