Thomas Walter Hood
April 24, 1948 ~ May 19, 2023

Thomas Walter Hood, 75, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 in Tarpon Springs, FL. He was born to William E. and Rita M. Hood on April 24, 1948 in Dielheim, Germany. He was the oldest of four children. His family moved around quite a bit for his dad’s extensive military career before settling down in Maryland.
Tom played varsity football and graduated from Frederick High School in Frederick, MD. He moved to Florida a few years after high school and called it home for the remainder of his life. He was a jack of all trades but found his calling in glass work, working on many commercial buildings throughout the state.
He had many joys in life, but shooting was his passion. He spent hours reloading his own ammunition for his weekly trips to the shooting range, a hobby he passionately shared with his kids and grandkids. After retirement, he also became a Range Officer at his favorite shooting range (Wyoming Antelope Club).

Tom also loved to fish, watch WWE (he was their biggest fan) and spend as much time as possible with his family. He always looked forward to his annual trip to the Carlisle Car Show in PA with his brother. Tom had a bigger-than-life personality and will be missed by all those that were fortunate enough to have met him. He is survived by his significant other, Nancy Richardson; children, Melissa (Kevin) Prescott, David Cash and Tommy (Jody) Hood; grandchildren, Bobby (Ana), Amber (Chulo), Lance, William, Serenity, Cole, and Abraham; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Daisy) Hood, Robert Hood and JoAnn (Larry) Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Rita Hood and ex-wife Darlene Odom.
