Stephanie Lynn Whitaker Buffington, 56, passed away on September 23, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born in 1965 in Bartow, Florida to Kermit and Judy Whitaker. Stephanie was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, and true friend. She loved her family and would do anything for them. Many of her friends and family simply called her “Steph.” They knew her for her kindness and gentleness. She was a proud mom of her two sons, Joshua and Tieken, who have become men she would brag about. She also had four grandchildren, whom she loved and adored. Steph was simple, only wanting to be with her family and friends. Though she was often the life of the party, there were many times she sat observing all her loved ones with a huge smile on her face. Stephanie is survived by parents, Kermit and Judy Whitaker; husband, Thomas Buffington; two sons, Joshua Whitaker (Jessica) and Tieken Buffington; two sisters, Melissa Mitchell (Vince) and Nicole Thompson (Joseph); and four grandchildren, Elijah, Logan, Samuel, and Rosalee Whitaker.
