His Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, February 25th at 12, noon at Lakes Church on SR 559, Auburndale.

William R. Thompson (Bill) 81, of Lakeland, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 12, 2023. He died surrounded by his family after a long illness. Bill was born on Feb. 24, 1941, in Bellville, IL. to the late L.B. and Ollie Thompson. He was very proud that he was a member of the first graduating class of UCF in 1970. He then moved his family to Winter Haven, FL to work with State Farm. In 1980, he became a Process Server and later he was a partner with BJT Attorney Services. He retired in 2015. During his life Bill worked for the Lord in several churches doing Youth Ministry and Kairos Prison Ministry. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Kroll Thompson; 3 daughters, Kimberly (Marty) Knapp, Kelly (Andy) Burgess and Karen (Bill) Gustafson; 10 grandchildren Kyle Burgess, Alyssa Hammond, Tyler Knapp, David Burgess, Kristyn Maldonado, Riley Burgess, Jared Burgess, Taylor Gustafson, Ryan Gustafson, Colin Gustafson; 8 great Grandchildren.
