    Dorrell will be taken back to Jasper where he will be buried next to his wife, Katie. Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb.16 from 11AM to 1PM. A celebration of life service will follow at 1PM and afterward there will be a funeral procession to Bennett Cemetery for a brief graveside service.     Thursday evening, Feb.7th another member of America’s greatest generation was promoted to glory! Dorrell W. Millican, 98, of Jasper, Alabama went home to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He had been a resident of Lakeland, FL for almost seven years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie, who died of ALS in 1986. He never remarried. He was also preceded in death by his son, Tony Millican of Tampa, FL and his daughter, Monica Fair of Ft. Wayne, IN. He is survived by one brother, Terry Millican of Jasper, AL; his three sons, Michael and his wife, Susan Millican of Lakeland, FL, Gary and his wife, Wendy Millican of Atlanta, GA, David and his wife, Becky Millican of Tampa, FL., Monica’s husband, Kevin Fair of Ft. Wayne. IN; Tony’s wife, Toni Millican of Tampa, FL; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
    Dorrell is a WW2 veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Air Force for 22 years, retiring from MacDill AFB and residing in Tampa. He also served there as a postal worker with the USPS for 17 years. After his wife, Katie died, he moved back to his hometown of Jasper, AL until 2012 when he came to Lakeland to live with his son, Mike.
    While back in Alabama, he was introduced to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 75 and became a faithful, dedicated servant of the Lord and an active member of Manchester Church of God, now known as The Sanctuary Church of God. Dorrell loved his family very much and had many dear friends who will miss him greatly. He loved driving the church van and taking people to make appointments until he was 90. He loved his church, his family and friends, wood-working, reading western novels, watching old western TV shows and movies and gospel music.
